John Mayer Kicks Off 2019 North American Tour w/ 27 Song Setlist!

Fresh off wrapping the Dead & Company Summer 2019 Tour, Mayer is back on the road for another massive tour. Ahead of the trek, Mayer promised his fans many delightful surprises.

He's resuming his 2019 World Tour with a North American leg, and got things started last night at Times Union Center in Albany, New York with a 27 song setlist!

The soft rock crooner (and swooner) had his set divided into two in true jam band fashion; giving fans not just a taste of his prolific guitar playing and songwriting, but a whole three-course-meals worth! Mayer was accompanied by an eight-piece band to really help bring his tunes to life over the 2.5 hours.

The night started on "Belief" with an extended intro, and the rest of the first set, 10 songs worth, featured cuts like "Love on the Weekend," "Helpless," "Vultures" and ended with "I Guess I Just Feel Like."

Mayer and his band took each song to new heights, showing that his time with the Dead has really broadened his abilities to incorporate new styles and sounds to each song.

The second set offered up several acoustic renditions of his songs. All of the first five tracks were done acoustically, starting with "The Age of Worry."

This set was longer than the first and carried a cover of Prince's "The Beautiful Ones." There was also plenty of solos to go around, "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" had two!

The second set ended with "Gravity" which weaved in an interpolation of Otis Redding's "I've Got Dreams to Remember."

The encore carried two licks - "Born and Raised" and one of his newer singles, "New Light."
