Dead & Company have found a way to squeeze in four more live experiences for fans before 2019 ends!
On the heels of their massive summer tour, they've just confirmed a short fall jaunt. The "Fall Fun Run" tour will consist of four nights in New York and two nights in Virginia. UPDATE (9/26/2019): And now the tour has tacked on four west coast dates for the end of the year! With two Los Angeles Dates on December 27 and 28 at the forum, and two in San Franciscos new Chase Center on December 30 and 31 for a special New Years Eve gig! The new tour is now simply called the "Fun Run."
The current lineup consists of three of the Grateful Dead's surviving core four: Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzman and Bob Weir, joined by Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers Band), Jeff Chimenti (RatDog) and John Mayer. The group will kick off the run with a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden on Halloween and November 1 before heading to Hampton, Virginia for a set of shows at the Hampton Coliseum on November 9 and 10.
Their summer tour– which kicked off in May and ran through July– featured Grateful Dead cuts like "Brown-Eyed Woman," "Casey Jones," "China Cat Sunflower" and "Eyes of the World," as well as members' own songs like Bob Weir's "Playin' in the Band" and "Cassidy" and the late Jerry Garcia's "Bird Song" and "Deal." John Mayer, one of Dead & Co.'s beloved founding members, has just recently embarked on a solo stint of his own, but he's scheduled to wrap things up October 18 in Manchester, England.
